ARDEENE'S DATE BREAD

1 generous cup chopped dates
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp soda
Mix and let stand

1 cup sugar
1tsp vanilla
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbls butter softened
1 3/4 cups flour
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

Add dates and water mix to dry ingredients. Bake 1 hour at 325
Makes two large(ie bush bean cans or 4 small soup can sized. Be sure and grease/spray well!
