1 gallon cucumbers, cut in chunks
Boiling water
1 quart cider vinegar
2 tbsp. salt
4 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. dry mustard
2 tbsp. mixed (whole) canning pickle spices
6 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Place cucumber chunks in large plastic pail or jar. Cover with boiling water, let set overnight. Drain in the morning. Mix together cider vinegar, salt, 4 tbsp. sugar, dry mustard, and pickle spices. Pour mixture over cucumbers into large plastic pail, jar, or crock. Measure out 6 c. sugar, add ½ cup to pickles each morning for 12 days. Stir well each time sugar is added. After 12 days flavor is improved - can be used then but gets better as they sit. Store in sterilized, airtight jars at room temp or in the fridge.
