3 cups cut up broccoli stalks
1 medium onion, peeled and sliced
2 to 3 ribs celery chopped
cup water from the cooked broccoli
2 tbs. butter or margarine
2 tbs. flour
tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 cup light cream or half & half or canned milk
1 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
In large sauce pan combine broccoli, onion, and celery. Add water and simmer 30 to 45 minutes, or until broccoli is tender. Put in blender with the cooking water. If there is extra water add that also. Blend until smooth. In same sauce pan melt butter or margarine; blend in flour, salt, pepper, and puree. Cook and stir for 5 minutes. Add cream and milk. Heat but do not boil.

Found this is a pile of my recipes. She had written it out for me. Made it and it's delicious. I used fat-free condensed milk and 2% milk.
