Personal Notes:
We all went to Catholic elementary school, and the older three ó†Deborah, Denise and I ó went to Catholic high school, too. They didn't have cafeterias, which meant Mom had to make lunches for six kids every day! I remember seeing six slices of bread laid out, assembly-line style. Mom had to remember the sandwich order, because some of us liked ketchup, others liked sandwich spread, and still others liked their sandwiches plain. She would wrap the sandwiches up in wax paper and pass them out to us as we left for school.

Then, Holy Cross implemented Wednesday Bun Day! We could buy lunch at school and eat in our classrooms. Not only was it our favorite lunch day, but it was Momís, too.

Now, the Sloppy Joe recipe is a staple at many Donchetz family gatherings, including the meal before our annual family broomball game on December 26th.
