1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
2 medium onions
1 cup cooked rice (white or Jasmine)
2 TBSP garlice powder
2 TBSP onion powder
1 TBSP smiked paprika
1 TBSP dried thyme
salt and pepper to taste
3 cups shredded cheese
¼ cup water
1 can of diced tomatoes with juice
1 small/medium head of cabbage
olive oil

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400º

Grease a 9x13 glass baking dish.
Brown beef and sausage, drain grease and set aside. Brown onions on 1 TBSP olive oil until translucent. Add garlic powder, onion powder, thyme and paprika. Add tomatoes with juice. Add the meats and water. Simmer until thick ( 15 minutes or so).

While mixture thickens, heat olive oil on a large pan/pot and add cabbage. Cook until wilted, season with salt and pepper.

Add the rice into the meat mixture.

In baking dish, layer cabbage, then meat mixture. Continue until all ingredients are used. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and add cheese, bake uncovered 5 - 10 minutes until cheese is light brown and melted.
