6 c. water (or chicken broth)
10 oz. package frozen chopped broccoli, can use fresh if desired
¾ c. chopped onion
1 c. shredded carrots
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. white pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 c. (8 oz.) shredded American cheese
1 c. milk
1 c. half & half
¼ c. butter
⅓ c. flour
½ c. cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Bring water or broth to a boil, add broccoli, onions, and carrots. Boil 10-12 min. Add salt, white pepper, and garlic powder. Add American cheese and stir until it melts. Remove from heat and add milk, half & half, and butter. Separately, add flour to cold water and mix well. Slowly heat soup until boiling again and gradually add flour/water mixture. Cook and stir until soup is the consistency of heavy cream.
