7 pounds of medium cucumbers
2 gallons water
2 cups slaked lime

Vinegar solution.
2 quarts vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon whole cloves
1 teaspoon mixed pickling spice
4 pounds sugar (11 cups)
1 teaspoon celery seeds

Directions:
Directions:
Slice 7 pounds of medium cucumbers quarter inch thick. Cover with solution of 2 gallons water and 2 cups slaked lime and soak for 24 hours. Rinse well and cover with fresh water and soak 3 hours. Drain and cover with the following vinegar solution. Soak overnight in syrup then boil 40 minutes, pack and seal.
