2 large onions
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
cup seasoned bread crumbs
salt and pepper to taste
1 qt. oil

Directions:
Directions:
Peel onions under cold water and separate into rings. In a bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Dip the onion rings in the flour mixture until they are well coated; set aside. Whisk the milk, egg into the flour mixture with a fork. Dip the floured onion rings into the milk batter until well coated then place on a wire rack until the rings stop dripping. Spread the bread crumbs on a piece of waxed paper and then dip the rings in the bread crumbs and comb the crumbs all over the rings. Deep fry the rings in hot oil for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Season with salt.
