Fudge Nut Bars Recipe

1 c. margarine
2 c. light brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. quick rolled oats

Filling:
12 oz. chocolate chips
1 c. sweetened condensed milk
2 T. margarine
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
2 tsp. vanilla

Bars:
Cream together margarine and sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and salt; stir in rolled oats. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Set aside.

Filling:
In a saucepan over boiling water, mix together with chocolate pieces, sweetened condensed milk, butter/margarine and salt. Stir until chocolate pieces are melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and stir in nuts and vanilla.

Spread 2/3 cookie dough in bottom of greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 in. jelly roll pan. Cover with fudge filling. Dot with remainder of cookie dough and swirl over fudge filling.

Bake at 350º for 25-30 minjtes or until lightly browned. Cut in small 2x1 in. bars. Cool in pan or on racks.

Makes 6 dozen bars.
