1 cup water
1 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, combine water and sugar over medium-high heat; bring to a boil.
2. Reduce heat and simmer until sugar dissolves and syrup slightly thickens, about 15 mintues.
3. Cool to room temperature.
4. Store in a container in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks.

Makes 1½ cups

Variations:

Cinnamon Simple Syrup: Add 2 cinnamon sticks to saucepan along with water and sugar. Cook as directed. Cool; remove and discard cinnamon sticks. Store as directed.

Fig Simple Syrup: Add 3 TBSP Dalmatia fig preserves to saucepan along with water and sugar. Cook as directed. Strain through fine mesh strainer. Cool and store as directed.

Rosemary Simple Syrup: Add 1 package (.25 ounce) rosemary to saucepan along with water and sugar. Cook as directed. Cool; remove and discard rosemary sprigs. Store as directed.
