2 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tarter
2 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. nutmeg
¼ tsp. cloves
5 eggs
2 cups flour
1 lb. raisins
½ lb. currents
1 cup walnuts
1 cup mixed fruit

Blend and bake 1 hour. Linden loves how she wrote 25 cents walnuts in her recipe. Bake 1 hour at 325 or until toothpick comes out clear.

Grandma made this every Christmas. It is so good, and I never missed having Christmas at her house for over 50 years. It was so special to me and a beautiful memory!
