3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup oil
4 eggs
2 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
juice of 1 orange (1/4 cup)
5 large apples
2 tsp cinnamon
5 tbsp. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Measure first 7 ingredients into one bowl and mix well
Use tube pan.
Grease it and dust with flour. Have apples peeled and sliced and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Put half the cake mixture in tube pan. Cover with the apple mixture. Add the rest of the batter and top with the remaining apple mixture.
If you wish sprinkle some chopped walnuts over it all. Bake in preheated over at 350º for 1 3/4 hrs. Test . If not done, bake a little longer.

(beat eggs, put in the sugar and then oil)
