Grandma Radford's Pineapple Cookies Recipe

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 cup crushed pineapple,drained
1/2 cup nuts
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
Maraschino cherries

1.Cream shortening and sugar together
2.Add egg
3.Stir in pineapple,nuts,lemon juice,flour,baking powder,baking soda and salt
4. Blend well and drop with teaspoon onto cookie sheet
5.Top each cookie with 1/2 cherry
6.Bake at 375 for approx 12 minutes
