3 3/4 cups bite sized frosted shredded wheat cereal
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup butter flavored shortening
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
1 Tablespoon honey or corn syrup
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips--your preference milk, dark, semi-sweet, ivory or can substitute M&Ms
1 cup chopped nuts, optional

In a food processor or blender, grind cereal as fine as possible. Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips and grind with the cereal. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add honey and mix well. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. Combine flour and baking powder and soda. Stir into batter. Blend in crushed cereal mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Chill dough couple hours. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Bake 350º 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned and centers are cracked but still moist. Remove from oven. Cool on wire rack 5 minutes and then remove from pan to wire racks to cool completely.
