Personal Notes:
Serve with fried potatoes and onions and Jiffy Cornbread Muffins. Cheesecake for dessert will pit it over the top. Plenty of leftovers. If you want to cook beans from scratch then soak in cool water with two tbs baking soda. Rinse thoroughly, (run beans through your fingers as you are putting in a stock pot because there may be small rocks in them. (when beans are sorted and bagged, gravel is used to help clean the beans and keep them moving.) Bring water to a bowl while adding beans. Reduce water to a medium low. Stir continuously until beans are soft. Then add cottage ham and beef broth to cover and simmer until broth is thick, Jars are so much quicker and really good.
