3 cups flour
1 teas. salt
1 cup shortening (Crisco, comes in a can) Not oil, lard.
1 egg, slightly beaten
½ cup very cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Cut shortening into flour with pastry blender. Add beaten egg and ¼ water. Gradually add remaining water if necessary to make soft pastry. Chill well before rolling out.

Yields two 9 inch pie crusts. You pick filling. If you do apple or cherry, put in pie crust before baking. If you make a lemon, banana, chocolate, strawberry, etc. Bake first, cool, and fill
