6 lbs. granny smith apples (peeled, cored and chopped)
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp. apple pie spice
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
4 tbsp. salted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Add the apples, sugars, spice and vanilla to an 8 quart crockpot. Cook on low for 8 hours.
After 8 hours, puree with a stick blender until the apples are smooth.
Add in the butter and cook on low for another 2 hours.

This is so good! It can be refrigerated for 3 weeks or kept in airtight containers in the freezer for 6 - 12 months. This recipe is also great for canning if you know how to do that, and it will last for years.
