1 egg
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. lard or shortening
12 c. milk or cream
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt

Filling:
1 c. chopped raisins
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. nuts - optional
1/2 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening together. Add egg and mix well. Next add all other ingredients. Then make the raisin filling. Roll dough out and cut into circles. Put teaspoon of filling in the middle of the circle and then put another circle on top. Seal edges with fork.

Filling: Combine ingredients and bring to a boil - cook until the raisins are soft and the mixture thickens

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown
