Notes: This recipe came from Auntie Jean, my mother in law’s best friend. She was an amazing person, friend, cook and baker. This was my first attempt at baking when I got married at 18. I loved her cake and she said that it was simple to make and so I tried and it was a success! Yay! It was always a staple in our house and so delish with a cup of coffee. For each of my 4 children’s birthday, I would bake the cake they wanted. Carey always asked for this one...... I I have seen it in books but none say put the baking soda into the sour cream to expand to double the amount. That is how I make it. You can also use yoghurt and margarine instead of butter. Enjoy!❤️💃🏽🍓
