1 lb. - pork sausage, divided
1 lb. - lean ground beef
3/4 lb. - mushrooms, diced
2 tbsp. - butter
1 large - onion, diced
3 cloves - garlic, minced
⅓ cup - fresh parsley, chopped
½ cup - tomato sauce
⅓ cup - milk
2 - eggs, slightly beaten
½ cup - bread crumbs
¼ tsp. - thyme
½ tsp. - oregano
1 tsp. - basil
1 tsp. - salt
½ tsp. - pepper

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º F.

In a large pan, brown and finely mince half of the pork sausage. Strain off grease and set aside. In the same pan melt the butter and sauté the onions and mushrooms until soft.

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, raw pork sausage, cooked pork sausage, mushrooms, onions, garlic, parsley, tomato sauce, milk, eggs, spices, and bread crumbs. Put mixture into a bread loaf pan or large cast iron skillet.

Bake for 60 minutes. Strain off any excess grease before serving.
