2 cups unsweetened cherries
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoons corn starch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup liquid (cherry juice and water)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine above ingredients in pan and cook for 5 minutes. Butter an 8 x 10" pan. Pour cherries and syrup into pan.

1 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons butter
1 egg
1 1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Cream sugar and butter together. Add egg. Combing dry ingredients and add alternately with milk to creamed mixture.
Pour batter over cherries and bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
