1¾ c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1½ c. rolled oats
1 c. shortening
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
½ c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. cold water
1 7 oz. package chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°. Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together. Stir in rolled oats. Cream shortening until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugars and continue creaming until well mixed. Stir in eggs, vanilla, and water. Add dry ingredients. Add chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoons onto greased baking sheets. Bake until lightly browned.
