5 cups - all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups - butter, melted
1 cup - sugar
1 cup - brown sugar
4 each - eggs
2 tsp. - baking soda mixed with 4 tbsp. hot water
3 tsp. - cinnamon
2 tsp. - ground cloves
6 cups - pecans, chopped
2 cups - dates, chopped
2 cups - raisins, chopped
1 cup - candied cherries, chopped
- Preheat oven to 275º F.
- In a large bowl, mix together the butter, sugar, brown sugar,eggs, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and flour.
- Gently add in the dates, raisins, cherries, and pecans till evenly combined.
- Roll the dough into one inch balls and place two inches apart on lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 30 minutes and cool on racks.
Makes approximately 6 dozen cookies.
