1 can cling peaches (Del Monte) or pears in syrup
1/4 cup sugar
1 stick cinnamon
1/4 c. cider vinegar
6 cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Drain peaches or pears and put liquid into pot. Add remaining ingredients and boil for 3 minutes. Place peaches or pearsin a glass container with cover. Pour hot liquid over the fruit. Let stand at least overnight in refrigerator. To serve, drain well and serve peaches.

Canned pineapple can be substituted for the fruit.
My mother would often serve this dish at Thanksgiving.
