5 eggs
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup Crisco
2 sticks oleo
2 tbsp. vanilla butternut flavoring
1/2 tsp salt
1 small can evaporated milk (add water to make 1 cup liquid)
10 oz. maraschino cherries
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:

-Cream shortening, salt, and sugar until light. Beat a long time.
-Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
-Add flour and milk alternately, ending with dry ingredients
-Stir in flavoring, cherries, cut up in small pieces, and add nuts
-Bake in greased and floured angel food cake pan
-PUT IN COLD OVEN
-Set temperature at 300º and bake for 2 1/2 hours or until done
