1/4 c margarine
1/4 c butter
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c white sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 egg

1 c +2 T flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 c chocolate chips
1 c broken walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Let butter and margarine sit at room temperature until soft. Beat until creamy. Add sugars and mix well. Add vanilla and egg and mix well.

Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda. Add to mixture and mix well. (You can throw in a handful of oatmeal for crispness, if you are so inclined) Add the chocolate chips and walnuts and mix.

Drop onto greased cookie sheet

Bake at 350 F for 10 min.

I make several different versions. I put in Cinnamon chips or Butterscotch chips for those allergic to chocolate. It is up to you to add walnuts. I personally prefer dark chips with the wanluts.

Be careful. These cookies may be habit forming!
