Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
1 handful sliced bacon, about 6 ounces
1 yellow onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup tomato sauce
3 cups chicken broth
Salt, pepper, cayenne to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Cooked bacon in skillet until almost crisp. Add onion; cook until soft and golden brown, about 5 minutes. Stir in garlic and tomato sauce. Cook until garlic has softened, about 1 minute.

Place green beans into skillet and add chicken broth. Raise heat to high, add salt, pepper and a pinch of cayenne. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1½ hours. Stir occasionally. Add more broth or water if necessary.

Cook until beans are soft and tender. Sometimes I even transfer to a crockpot and cook very low all day.

The tomato sauce is the secret ingredient - if you don’t have any, can substitute with tomato paste, tomato juice or even ketchup!
