3 cups flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt; set aside
Cream together butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy w/mixer at med speed
Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.
Add vanilla.
Gradually stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture; mix well
Chill dough in refrigerator for 1 hour.
Shape dough in to 1" balls then dip in sugar and place 2" apart on greased baking sheet.
Make slight indentation in each cookie and place 2-3 drops of water in each.
Bake at 350º oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown
Cool on racks.
