1 lb butter
1 lb sugar
Dozen eggs
1 lb (4 cups) cake flour
1 lb white raisins
1 lb dark seedless raisins
1 lb dried current
1 lb figs (thinly slices)
1 lb candied cherries
1 lb candied pineapple
½ lb lemon peel
½ lb orange peel
1 lb dates (thinly sliced)
1 cup honey or jelly
small can crushed pineapple
1 tbsp citron (some for flowers on top)
1/3 cup white wine
1/3 cup orange or grape juice
1 lb Brazil nuts
1 lb pecans
1 lb English walnuts
1 lb almonds
2 tsp cinnamon
4 tsp allspice
2 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp mace (Mom does not use this)
½ tsp baking soda


Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream butter first then add sugar a little bit at a time – cream well
2. Beat eggs in another bowl – put orange juice, honey, and wine in with the eggs
3. Measure and sift flour with spices and soda – then mix with all the fruit
4. Add floured fruits, orange juice mixture, and butter and sugar and mix all together well little by little
5. Bake in pans lined with brown paper and butter for 4½ hours at 275º – cook 1 hour and check – it is done when
loose on sides
