Ham Bone or Fully cooked diced ham
1 pound bag of split peas
1 onion, chopped
2 carrots, diced
2 ribs celery, diced
3 TBSP butter
2 Bay Leaves
6 cups unsalted chicken broth

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and saute onion, celery and carrots until soft.
Sort and rinse split peas and place drained peas in crockpot or pan
Add ham bone, chicken broth snd bay leaves.
For crockpot, cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours. You can also cook on the stove for a couple of hours, until peas are soft.
Pull out the bone and pick the meat off and add to soup,
Remove bay leaves and serve

This is an awesome way to use that honey-baked ham bone! Any ham bone will do. If you use regular ham, be sure that it’s pre-cooked
