2 sticks of margarine
1 c. sugar
4 large eggs
5-6 apples peeled and thinly sliced
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
3 1/2 oz. flaked coconut (optional)
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter & sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add sifted dry ingredients.
Add apples and coconut, reserving some apples for thin top layer.
Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan.
Put thin layer of apples on top.
Sprinkle mixture of cinnamon and sugar on top.

Bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.

Serve warm or cool.

I received this recipe from Inga Kalbak who was a nurse at Washington Hospital Center. At times she would sleep over at our house in Bowie when we worked weekends.
I really liked this recipe, reminds me of apple cake.
