2 cups raisins, boiled in 4 cups of water (save 2 cups of the raisin water)
2 eggs
3 cups sugar
4 cups flour
1 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoons allspice
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoons salt
1 cup cooking oil
1 cup walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream eggs and sugar, add oil. Slowly sift dry ingredients add alternately with raisin water. Mix well. Add raisins and 1 cup of nuts.
Pour into a 9x13 inch pan.
Bake at 325 degrees for 35-45 minutes.

This was one of my favorites as a kid but the name always confused me. I never knew why they called it "Booze" cake when there was no booze in it. I always asked but I just got the answer - it's booze cake as they would laugh. Still not sure of the name but I do like the cake. If you make it be sure to bring me a piece of two. I tried a different recipe, from the Navas family cookbook, that was a disaster. After taking Nina a piece, of the disaster cake, she sent me this recipe. I haven't had a chance to try this recipe, yet, but I'm hopeful it will be better than the other recipe.
