1 box powdered sugar
(powdered sugar used to come in a box - 3 1/2 cups)
1 cup Crisco
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk
3 c. flour, shifted three times after measuring


Directions:
Directions:
Cream powdered sugar and Crisco until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each. Add sifted flour and milk alternately in thirds beating well after each addition, ending with the flour. Add vanilla and beat 2 minutes.

Pour into a 10" tube pan which has been greased and floured. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Allow to cool on a cake rack before releasing from pan.

When cool, dust with powdered sugar.

This was one of Grandma Barth's favorite recipes. Aunt Mary was Grandpa Barth's aunt by marriage. She lived on a farm in Michigan (I think).
