Ingredients: Cookie: 1 cup shortening 3 cups brown sugar 4 eggs beaten 2 tsp vanilla 5 cups flour 2 cups sour cream 1 tsp salt 1 tsp baking powder 2 tsp soda 1 ½ cup chopped nutmeats
Frosting: ½ cup butter browned in frying pan 3 cups powdered sugar ½ cup hot water

Directions: |
Directions:Mix shortening (butter) and brown sugar together. Add slightly beaten eggs. Add vanilla, salt, baking powder, baking soda. Add flour and then add the chopped nuts.
Drop from 1 tsp about inch apart.
To Make Frosting: Brown butter in a cast iron pan.....note: fine line between brown and burned so be careful. More by smell.........do slowly. Add powdered sugar and water.......it says 1/2 cup but that sounds like a lot for three cups of powdered sugar so add the powdered sugar and butter and add water if you need it to desired consistency. |
