Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Cookie:
1 cup shortening
3 cups brown sugar
4 eggs beaten
2 tsp vanilla
5 cups flour
2 cups sour cream
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp soda
1 ½ cup chopped nutmeats

Frosting:
½ cup butter browned in frying pan
3 cups powdered sugar
½ cup hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening (butter) and brown sugar together. Add slightly beaten eggs. Add vanilla, salt, baking powder, baking soda. Add flour and then add the chopped nuts.

Drop from 1 tsp about inch apart.

To Make Frosting: Brown butter in a cast iron pan.....note: fine line between brown and burned so be careful. More by smell.........do slowly. Add powdered sugar and water.......it says 1/2 cup but that sounds like a lot for three cups of powdered sugar so add the powdered sugar and butter and add water if you need it to desired consistency.

Jennie (Jane) was Hilda's sister. She lived in Chicago her adult life until old age and then came to live with Hilda until she passed away. She was married to Uncle Shilley who was a character. Aunt Jane and Uncle Shilly loved their martini's.
