1 8oz tub of soft margarine or 2 sticks butter, softened
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 6oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips (or milk chocolate chips, if you prefer)
½ c. chopped pecans

Directions:

Beat margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in egg and vanilla. Add flour; mix well. Spread dough into 15x10x1" jelly roll pan. Bake at 350º for 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Sprinkle immediately with chocolate pieces; let stand several minutes. Spread melted chocolate evenly over surface. Sprinkle with pecans. Cool, cut into bars.
