Allow at least 24 hours for every 4 lbs.
Place unopened turkey, breast side up, on a tray in refrigerator following guidelines or until thawed

Quick Thaw--Cold Water
Allow 30 minutes per pound.
Place unopened turkey, breast side down, in sink filled with cold tap water.
Change water frequently.
Once thawed, keep in refrigerator until ready to cook

Remove packaging
Remove wrapper and two plastic bags containing neck and giblets from body cavities
Drain Juices and rinse out turkey.
Pat dry with paper towels.

Stuff Turkey if stuffing

Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Position turkey on flat roasting rack in 2 inch roasting pan.
Brush with oil and season with salt and pepper

24 to 30 lbs. 6 to 7 days 12 to 15 hrs. 4 1/2 to 5 hrs. 5 1/2 to 6 1/4 hrs.

I've cooked Turkey on the grill quite a bit.
The time is about the same, but watch it doesn't get too brown. Cover with foil if getting brown.
Also baste with chicken broth throughout the cooking.
