1¾ cups water
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsps butter
1 dash salt
1 tsp vanilla extract

Dumplings:
1 cup flour
¼ cup sugar
1 ½ tsps baking powder
½ tsp salt
⅓ cup milk
3 tbsps vegetable oil
¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
¼ cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375ºF.

Syrup:
In small saucepan, combine water, sugar, brown sugar, butter & salt. Bring to boiling. Add vanilla. Keep hot over low heat while mixing dumplings.

Dumplings:
Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Combine milk and oil; add all at once to dry ingredients. Stir just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

Pour hot syrup into an 8 inch square baking dish. Drop 12 dumplings into syrup. Bake for 25 minutes.

Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
