1 cup butter
½ cup of sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla
1 ¾ cups flour
¼ cup cocoa
1 tablespoon instant coffee
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup finely chopped nuts
½ cup chopped maraschino cherries
Powdered sugar

Cream butter and gradually add sugar and vanilla.

Cream butter and add sugar and vanilla. Beat until blended. Sift together flour, cocoa, coffee and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts and cherries. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill until easy to handle, about 1 hour. Shape into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool slightly on wire racks. While still warm, dust cookies with powdered
sugar .
