Ingredients: 1 lb. ground beef 1 medium onion, chopped 1 - 2 cloves garlic [optional] bell peppers, green and/or red, chopped [optional] 3 ribs celery, chopped 2 cans (12 oz cans) tomato sauce (or 1 16 oz. can) 1 tsp. oregano 2 tsp. parsley 1 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. basil 2 tsp. Italian seasoning [optional] 1 tsp. Season All salt & pepper 2 cups (8 to 10 oz.) elbow macaroni (cook only 5 minutes in 4 quarts of water)

Directions:Preheat oven to 350º. Break up the ground beef, and add onion and garlic in a skillet on the stove over medium heat. [Optional] Add bell peppers and celery, if desired. Break up the ground beef as it cooks. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Drain off the fat. Put the skillet back on the stove and add tomato sauce and all the spices. Cook over medium heat and bring it to a boil, then turn down and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally. Make the elbow noodles (cook only 5 minutes in 4 quarts of water) while the tomato sauce is cooking. When the noodles and sauce are both done, combine them in a casserole dish. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes. |
