1 pkg. yeast ( ¼ oz )
½ cup warm water ( 112 degrees )
¼ cup sugar
½ cup scalded whole milk
⅓ cup butter ( melted )
1 tsp salt
1 egg ( beaten )
3-4 cups flour

Filling:
½ cup soft butter
¾ cup sugar
2 tbsp ground cinnamon
¾ cup nuts or raisins
Caramel: ⅓ cup butter, ½ cup brown sugar, 1 tbsp corn syrup heat in small sauce pan for 1 min.

dissolve yeast in warm water in a large warm bowl.
In a sauce pan add milk and warm to a scald, then add butter stir till butter has melted and milk has cooled off some.
Add salt and blend with the yeast mixture.
Add beaten egg and 2 cups flour, mix till smooth, then add the rest of the flour until dough is easy to handle
knead by hand or kitchen aid mixer for hand about 8 min. for machine 5 min.
place dough in a well greased bowl till double in bulk about 1 to 1½ hours
gently punch down and roll out on floured surface to a 15x9 inch rectangle
spread softened butter over dough. mix cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle over dough, you can add nuts or raisins at this time. roll up dough, pinch edge, cut into slices
pour caramel into 9x13 inch pan, lay cut slices on top of caramel. let rise 45 min. bake in a 350 degree oven 25-30 min.
flip out onto aluminum foil while hot.
