4 C. sugar
1 C. light corn syrup
3/4 C. water
3 egg whites, softly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 C. broken nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Place sugar, corn syrup, and water in saucepan over low heat.
2. Stir until mix is melted; then cook without stirring to 260ºF (when dropped into cold water forms a hard ball).
3. Remove from heat and poor, beating constantly, in a fine stream into the egg whites.
4. Continue beating mixture until it holds its shape and loses its gloss.
5. Add vanilla and nuts. (Nuts are optional)
6. Drop quickly from tip of spoon onto waxed paper in individual peaks... or spread in a buttered pan and cut into 1" squares when firm.
