Ingredients: DOUGH 2 C. milk 1 C. butter 1 C. sugar 1 tsp salt 2 egg yolks 8 C. flour 2 pkg. yeast
TOPPING 1 C. flour 1/2 C. butter (hard) 1/2 C. sugar 2 egg whites
CREAM CHEESE FILLING 1 8oz. cream cheese 1/3 C. sugar 1/4 C. flour 1 tsp vanilla
FRUIT FILLING 1 can pie fruit filling 1/4 C. flour (sugar is optional)
WALNUT FILLING 6 oz. ground walnuts 1/4 C. sugar 2 Tbsp water

Directions:DOUGH (3 loaves worth) 1. Heat milk on stovetop w/butter until butter is melted. Add sugar and salt to mixture. Let cool. 2. Put yeast in 1/4 C. warm water with a little sugar. 3. Add egg yolks to cooled milk mixture and slowly add flour. 4. Let dough rise twice. 5. Separate into 3 loaves. 6. Roll out dough and add fillings. 7. Roll up dough and add topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 30min.
FILLINGS Mix desired filling ingredients together. Each ingredient recipe is enough for 1 loaf.
TOPPING Mix together flour, butter, and sugar. Baste loaves with egg whites then sprinkle on mixture. |
