1 loaf of bread (about a pound)
1 ½ cups milk
8 oz. cream cheese
1/3 cup maple syrup
12 eggs
Powdered sugar to taste- optional
Vanilla to taste - optional
Cinnamon to taste- optional

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease 9x13 pan. Cut bread into cubes. Spread half the bread in pan. Cut cream cheese into small cubes (or mix with powdered sugar and vanilla if using) and sprinkle half over bread in pan . Repeat, layering with remaining bread and cream cheese. Whisk eggs, milk, and syrup (and cinnamon if using) in large bowl. Pour egg mixture over the the bread.

Bake uncovered 30-40 minutes, until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

Note: This is a great recipe to make ahead of time. Just prepare the casserole, cover, and refrigerate overnight, then bake in the morning.
