4 slices candied pineapple
1 pkg candied cherries
2 pkgs or 1 lb of pitted dates
1 lb. walnuts (shelled)
3/4 lb. pecans
1 can Eagle Brand milk
1 large box vanilla wafers

Directions:
Directions:
Cut candied fruits and nuts. With a rolling pin, roll wafers, until fine. Mix all ingredients well and pack in covered dish.

Refrigerate 24 hours.

This is the recipe of Mattie Inez Estes, Laura Heard's maternal grandmother. Notice there is no alcohol in this recipe. Laura's Mammaw was the wife of a Baptist preacher. We had to include a fruitcake recipe because John Heard LOVES fruitcake!
