1 lb. hamburger meat
1 medium onion, chopped
1 large bell pepper, chopped
1 (53 oz) can pork and beans
½ cup sugar (white or brown)
2 Tbsp. mustard
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
½ cup ketchup
3 to 4 bacon strips
salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350º, Brown meat, onions, and pepper together; drain. Mix in other ingredients, except for the bacon, and pour it into a baking dish. Top with bacon strips. Bake for 30 minutes

I had a time with Momma on this one. She never in her life measured anything. She always said it was a Family Recipe when they made it for the fish fries that she and Daddy did. When they gave the recipe out she and Daddy always added: "Don't forget to put in the dirty dishcloth or the Dirty Dishwater".
