2 c. water
4 c. chopped fresh broccoli
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped carrots
1/2 c. onion
6 Tbsp. butter
6 Tbsp. flour
3 c. chicken broth
2 c. milk (I used 1%)
1 Tbsp. minced fresh parsley (I used dried parsley about 1 Tbsp.)
1 tsp. onion salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. cheddar cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Bring water to a boil. Add the broccoli, celery, and carrots; boil 2-3 minutes until crisp tender. Drain, set vegetables aside. In the same pot sauté the onion in butter until tender. Stir in flour to form a smooth paste. Gradually stir in broth and milk until smooth. Bring to a boil, cook and stir for 1 minute or until thickened. Stir in reserved vegetables and other ingredients except cheese. Reduce heat, cook for 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Add cheese and melt. Keep on low heat until ready to serve. DELICIOUS!
