1 quart vanilla ice cream
1 baked 9" pastry shell
1 quart fresh strawberries
1/3 cup sugar
1 Tbsp cornstarch
Directions:
Directions:
Stir ice cream til slightly softened; spread in bottom of pastry shell. Freeze firm. Mash then sieve 1 cup of the berries. In saucepan combine sugar and cornstarch; stir in 1/2 cup water. Stir in sieved berries. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Cool to room temperature. About 20 minutes, before serving time. Arrange remaining whole berries, stem end down, atop ice cream. Spoon thickened mixture over berries. Freeze till serving time.
