2 tbsp soft shortening (Crisco)
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp almond extract
½ tsp salt
4 cups sifted confectioners sugar
9 tbsp scalded cream
¼ cup maraschino juice
18 chopped maraschino cherries
½ cup finely chopped nuts (pecan)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine shortening, butter, vanilla, almond and salt and blend together
2. Beat in ½ cup confectioners sugar
3. Add hot cream – alternately with remaining sugar
4. Add chopped maraschino cherries and nuts beating well
5. Add maraschino juice it not pink enough you can add a drop of red food coloring
6. Ice your cakes
