4 large green tomatoes
1/2 cup fine cornmeal, white
1/2 cup plain flour
Salt and pepper to taste
Vegetable oil

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cornmeal and flour together. Place in a shallow plate for dredging tomatoes. Peel and cut tomatoes into 1/4 inch thick slices. Sprinkle slices with salt and pepper. Dredge in meal flour. Heat oil on medium heat in a heavy frying pan. Gently add tomato slices to hot oil and fry until golden brown, turning only once.
