2½ cups flour
1 cup shortening
½ tsp. salt
1 cup crushed corn flakes
10 apples peeled and sliced
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg yolk with enough milk to make ⅔ cup
save the egg white
1 cup sugar

Directions:
Cut shortening into flour and salt. Add milk with egg yolk; blend with fork. Roll ½ of the dough out and place in bar pan. Sprinkle bottom with crushed corn flakes and peeled and sliced apples. Put combined sugar and cinnamon on top. Roll other half of dough and place on top. Seal the edges. Beat egg white stiff and brush over top. Bake 10 minutes at 400, reduce heat to 350 and bake an additional 50 minutes until golden brown. While warm frost with 1tbsp. milk, 1 cup powdered sugar and ½ tsp. vanilla or almond flavoring. If crust rises, you may cut small slits in top.
